I was assigned to C Btry 1/40 when it formed at Ft. Sill. I shipped out with the battalion to Da Nang, and then we convoyed to Dong Ha. Finished at Gio Lihn. I trained with the unit when it was formed at Ft. Sill, shipped over to Da Nang and drove to Dong Ha. Served my entire Vietnam tour as chief of C Btry's base piece. Came home for discharge in 1967. Have been to a couple of reunions and look forward to the next one.

I served my entire three years (minus Ft. Sill basic) in HQ 1/40 first as 13E then 13C. I was a rebellious immature fool. Although still not considered a man when I was discharged I was well on my way because of the experiences and people in my life during that time. Thank you all! All for one.

I am proud of my service with the 1/40th in Hanau Germany.I earnsd the Army achievment medal serving with the unit in 1982-83. The linage and honors web sit has humbled me greatly, Still, I am very proud of any contribution I made to this very proud and heroic unit of the United States Army. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who sufferd and died for our freedom. I hope to see some of you veterans of the great 1st Bn 40th FA reunion soon, God bless you.

I served with C Btry until the Battalion went home. Joined 8Bn 4th Arty until Derost in Apr 70. Some of the guys I served with: Capt. Cannon, Lt Sullivan, Lt Linville, Chas. Metro, Mike LaRue, Woody, Nordenson.... Welcome any letters to my Email. I think of you guys often.
